J Beatz - 8 Bar Mucktion [Audio]

This year so far in 2011, we've seen decent grime tracks being released one after the after, including Spartan, Lock Off The Rave and many many more. Well this trend shows no sign of stopping, as we start to approach the end of the year, after Logan premiered a track last Monday, which is already creating a massive buzz around it.

The track I'm talking about is from North London producer J-Beatz, entitled '8 Bar Mucktion', which features an all-star cast of grimes top mc's. The track I'm sure will be remembered as the 'Grime All-Star Track Of The Year', featuring an epic lineup including, 9 Milli Major, Big H, Kwam, Big Narstie, Sharky Majoy, Blay, MIK, Typah, Dimples, Jammin, Rival and Tre Mission.

Butterz - Autumn Zip [Free Download]

After all the hard work the Butterz label have been putting in lately, including releases and club nights, as well as being announced as the DJ's featured for the Rinse:17 cd, they've still found time to release the Autumn Zip, a folder filled full of grime vocals and instrumentals. The folder contains around 27 tracks, featuring the likes of Royal-T, Terror Danjah, TRC, Trim (including the I Am acapella) and loads more.

You can catch the Butterz duo Elijah and Skilliam playing up and down the country in the next few months, including the Butterz Takeover raves as well, following on from the last dance they held at Cable Nightclub.

Ruff Sqwad - Las Vegas

It seems the veteran grime crew Ruff Sqwad are back, a few weeks back we saw a video to the brand new track 'This Side', then we hear that the crew are currently working on the third edition of their 'Guns & Roses' series, now we see yet another brand new video, this time for the track entitled 'Las Vegas.'

The title of the track and the video seem to go hand in hand, as the video was filmed in the gambling city of America, at the same time the crew was out there filming for Tinchy Stryders' new track 'Off The Record'.

There's been a lot of covers of American tracks lately, something that I'm sometimes skeptical of, but I have to admit, out of all the one's I've heard so far this has to be the best.

The Nationality mc RD has done his own cover to the Sean Garett feat. Rick Ross 'In Da Box' track, produced by Lex Luger, which he has titled 'Chasing'. RD has decided to give away the track for free, which you can download here http://t.co/DBuxemwm.

Black The Ripper - Do It Like Me [Official Video]

The North London mc is back, with visuals for his brand new track 'Do It Like Me' produced by 1xtra Hip Hop DJ, Charlie Sloth. It's been a while since we've heard anything from Samson, but it's fair to say he's returned with a banger, proving why no one else can do it like him.

Manga Feat. Scratchy & J2K - No Mc (Out Now) [Release]

Finally the wait is over and the massive track 'No Mc' from Manga featuring fellow Roll Deep Members Scratchy & J2K, produced by Preditah is out now via Launchpad Records.

The single release contains three track, including the original, a remix featuring an all-star cast of mc's with the likes of Brazen, Discarda, Riko, Breeze and Flowdan and even a remix of the original, produced by Scratchy.

TRC - Leak EP Out Now [Free Download]

Shortly after the recent release of Trim's 'I Am' single, which was produced by TRC, the UK producer decided to give away a free EP entitled 'Leak', after receiving a 100 likes on Facebook. The EP contains 11 absolutely massive instrumentals on it, ranging from grime to garage.

TRC really is, in my opinion, one of the top producers in the scene right now and has certainly proved he can hold that title, with the high standard of the tracks featured on this release. I would try to pick to my favourite track but to tell the truth, I rate every single one of them.

Lioness - Don't Tell Me [Official Video]

After recently releasing her free mixtape entitled 'Roarness' Lioness drops the official video for her track entitled 'Don't Tell Me'. The video, directed by Greg Bond, was filmed at Bump, the weekly friday club night held at Plan B in Brixton.

Lioness chooses a dubstep production for this track, something we havent heard from her before, and although it would have been nice to hear this over a grime beat instead, it seems she doesn't want to be told what to spit on.

Tre Mission Hype Session - Lord Of The Mics 3 [Video]

Last week we saw Jendor's 'Hype Sessions' freestyle sending for Tre Mission and this week we see the Canadian mc's reply. Tre Mission certainly doesn't hold back and makes it known that he's ready for this clash, even putting his twist on some of Hollowman's well known bars like "28 Shots". With a strong send from Jendor too, this is set out to be one exciting clash from the series.

Logan Sama After Hours feat. Manga, Young Kye & Nafe Smallz [Video]

Just lately we've seen a lot from Manga, including the forthcoming mixtape 'Obzokey Wranglings' which is out next month. However before that drops, the single 'No Mc' feat. J2K and Scratchy is set for release on the 25th and to promote it the Roll Deep mc came down to the Kiss FM studio with Luton based mc's Young Kye and Nafe Smallz, for Logan Sama's afterhours set.

As well as Manga's forthcoming releases, Young Kye and Nafe Smallz have also got a joint mixtape, so make sure you look out for that.

Dizzle Kid- Do What I Want EP Out Now x Freestyle Video

The Lava Unit mc Dizzle Kid has finally released his own project, entitled 'Do What I Want' EP. This massive release contains six straight up grime tracks, with vocal features from Bruza and Mayhem and productions from Bless Beats, Faze Miyake and more.

It seems were seeing more and more free downloads lately, which I can sort of understand with an mc like Dizzle Kid, seeing as he's been quiet in the scene lately. Although in my opinion this EP, and many others lately that have been released for free, could certainly pull off an official release, as it contains some solid tracks featured on it.

To help promote the release, Dizzle Kid also dropped a video on the same day, giving you a run through of the EP itself and also dropping a freestyle at the end as well.

SK Vibemaker Interview Lioness [Video]

SK Vibemaker catches up with the female mc Lioness, to talk about her recent release 'Roarness' with features from two other female mc's, which are both making a name for themselves in the UK right now, A.Dot and Lady Leshurr.

They also chat about how Lioness feels about mainstream success and whether that is more important to her than respect from the scene she's currently involved in and also the transition we've seen, musically, from Lioness lately.

Kozzie Vs. Sox Rematch Lord Of The Mics 3 [Video]

After the choke from Sox during his and Kozzie's Lord Of The Mics clash, theres been a lot of rumours and speculations flying around as to what actually happened. We then heard a lot of people claim that Kozzie only won the clash by default and for no other reason.

So the Blue Borough mc caught up with Lord Of The Mics, to prove to everyone that he's still willing to clash and has confirmed the rematch with the Brum mc, hopefully this time we'll get to see the full clash from both mc's.

Kozzie-I'm Famous Out Now [Release]

After the success from the 'Spartan' vocal, produced by Spooky, Kozzie's career has steadily progressed up until now where he releases the second single from his recent mixtape, 'The Problems Started', for his track entitled 'I'm Famous', which we also recently saw a video for.

The single, which was released by the No Hats No Hoods label, contains six tracks, including the original, produced by Faze Miyake, a remix from Virgo and the instrumentals from both of these as well. However the highlight of this mixtape for me is the last track on the release entitled 'My Life' which features vocals from Cylena Cymone and the production of the track from Mensah. The track showcases Kozzie's story-telling abilities as an mc and shows us a deeper insight into his personal life, which we've yet to hear.

One of the best female mc's in the UK brings out a brand new mixtape up for free download entitled 'I Am Future', hosted by DJ Limelight. No Lay has paved the way for many of the scenes current female mc's and after a break from the game has returned with this strong release.

The thirteen track mixtape features a blend of grime and rap and also features the 'OG Niki' diss, otherwise known by No Lay 'No Show Niki' after her hype sessions forced the Birmingham mc to pull out of the Lord Of The Mics clash.

Clement Marfo & The Frontline Feat. Ghetts - Overtime [Official Video]

Clement Marfo & The Frontline, the seven piece band from South London, are taking the UK urban music scene by storm with their mix of hip hop, grime and rock. The band have received huge support from dj's including Mistajam, Semtex and Zane Lowe lately and have been putting in the work when it comes to live shows, with regular performances at  ILUV LIVE.

After releasing their free ep earlier this year entitled 'Welcome' the band now release the official video for the track 'Overtime' feat. grime star Ghetts through SB.TV. The single is set for release on Nov 14th and features remixes from, the man of the moment Royal-T, S-X and cruelty.

Kids Of Grime + Jammer P.A at Infart Festival Italy 2011 [Video]

Verena Stefanie, who runs Kids Of Grime, has recently been labelled the 'Grime Embassador' of Italy and quite rightly so as well as she's been putting in mad work lately helping spread the sound of our scene to Italy and other European countries alike.

The 'Infart Festival' is a three day urban art and music festival, that takes place in Italy. Verena saw this as the perfect opportunity to, as she quotes "Officially Showcase Grime To Italy" by hosting an exhibition of her photography there and even bringing along Jammer to perform a live P.A in front of a crowd of one thousand.

G.Tank - Flashforward EP Out Now [Release]

 

Finally the 'Flash Forward EP' sees it's official release by one of the grime scene's biggest producers G.Tank. The nine track release features a mix of vocals and instrumentals, including features from Merky Ace, Big Narstie, Jammin and Kozzie.

The highlight of the release has to be the 'Flashforward 8 Bar Seance' which features a massive lineup of 12 of the grime scene's finest mc's including Kozzie, Diesel, Rival, Dolla and loads more. We also see two more vocal tracks on the ep, which includes 'Round We Go' feat. Merky Ace, Big Narstie, Lexx and Clipson, which we recently saw a video for, and Big Narstie's 'Peas & Gwap' featuring Lexman Deya.

The rest of EP contains seven instrumentals, with the tracks 'Techtonic' and 'Behind The Power' being two definite one's to look out for.

Nico Lindsay - Haunted (Prod. By S-X) [Free Download]



After recently seeing the video for the hip hop freestyle entitled 'Currently Thinking', Nico Lindsay brings out yet another track. This time it's a grime track which is also up for free download, so make sure you go get that after listening below.

The track entitled 'Haunted' is produced by the hit-maker S-X and follows the same route as the 'Currently Thinking' freestyle filled full of deep lyrics, showing us that the North London mc is more than comfortable on both genres.

Fuda Guy Kids Of Grime Freestyle [Video]

After not hearing much from Fuda Guy lately, the Ruff Sqwad member drops a freestyle over a Flava  D instrumental for Kids Of Grime TV. Apart from hearing Fuda on Roachee's new release 'Roach Material Vol.1' this is the first time we've heard anything in a while, so lets hope that changes and we start to hear more again from the mc. Rival - Talk That Official Video x Kids Of Grime Interview [Video]

The hardest working mc in grime is back yet again with new material, this time with an official video, filmed and edited by Lockdown Records, for the track 'Talk That'. We all know Rival as an mc who's bars are filled full of violence and rage, but this track takes a different approach to what we've been used to hearing and instead explains the reasons behind his lyrics.

Just lately I've heard a lot of people saying that Rival is one of the best in the scene right now. Well in my opinion versatility is one of the things that separates you from the rest and puts you in the top mc category and with tracks like this Rival is doing exactly that.

Jendor - Lord Of The Mics 3 Hype Session (Tre Mission Send) [Video]

After sending for Dot Rotten and receiving no reply, Jendor has a new mc targeted. This time Hollowman sends for the Canadian grime mc Tre Mission in his latest Hype Sessions freestyle for Lord Of The Mics. To celebrate his birthday, the UK hit-maker decided to release a collection of unreleased tracks from over the years. The long awaited mixtape is finally here from the 'When I'm Ere' mc and it certainly doesn't disappoint either. After recently seeing the video for 'Sith Lord', which was dropped a few days before the release, it was clear to see that Roachee was back, this time with a arsenal of new bars but delivered in the same gritty way from his former Roll Deep days.

The ten track release features a wide range of styles, from the dark gritty tracks were used to hearing Roach on, like 'Filthy Rich', which is produced by myself, and Sith Lord, we also see some deep tracks expressing emotion that may surprise some people to hear, with tracks like 'Why' and 'Life'.

Rude Kid - Spring (Feat. P Money & Merky Ace) Out Now [Release]

When two of the biggest grime mc's in the scene right now came together to record a track over possibly one of the most epic grime instrumentals the scene has seen this year, it was a no brainer that the outcome would be something special. After getting played religiously on radio, including holding a weekly spot on Logan Sama's Kiss FM show on Mondays, the track is now available to purchase on iTunes.

Instead of hearing the standard collab were all used to, Merky Ace and P Money have brought a much cleverer concept to this track, going back to back throughout the whole song, creating almost a seesaw of lyrics between the two.

The massive instrumental from producer Rude Kid, which is taken from his 'Always Ready' EP, has been at the heart of every grime radio set and rave this year and has certainly earned itself the title of the 'Grime Anthem' of 2011.

D Double E - Lyrical Farda [Official Viral Video]



"I'm That Lyrical Farda, Name A Mc Thats Spits Harder"

Considered by many as 'one of the best' in the scene and hailing the title of grime's most legendary mic man, the Newham Generals mc drops another video for the second single from his most recent release.
This time we see an official viral video, which is obviously working after already receiving over 13,000 views in less than a week on YouTube, for the epic track entitled 'Lyrical Farda' which is taken from the release 'Bluku Bluku EP'.

The video features clips features throughout the mc's whole career, including studio sessions, radio sets, including Jammer's birthday set back in the day on DeJa Vu FM, and raves that the mc has shutdown before in the past.

Random Impulse - DJ Fresh Louder Refix [Audio]

Random Impulse has to be one of the most talented artists within the UK. Starting off his musical career with North London based crew GFam, who he still continues to do plenty of tracks with, we were then introduced to Random Impulses's songwriting skills and musical instrument playing abilities.

After choosing certain mainstream songs the mc then puts his own spin on the track, with his guitar as one weapon and the mic as the other.

This time round he's chose to do a refix of the chart topping song 'Louder' by DJ Fresh. It's exciting to hear music like this as this is the first time we've heard someone take this sort of approach on mainstream music. The North London mc really does define the term of a 'one man band'.

Logan Sama Kiss FM Set Ft. Merky Ace, Footsie, TKO & Shifman Sept 5

On this weeks Logan Sama show on Kiss FM, we saw Family tree member Merky Ace and producer Rudekid on the show to promote their new single 'Spring' which also features P Money and also Footsie promoting his new single 'Do You Get Me Boss'.

Merky Ace also brought fellow crew members Shifman & TKO and the Family Tree trio went in over the newest in grime with one half of the Newham Generals Footsie.

Big up Aaron Hanson (Hanson's House) for the filming as usual.

9 Milli Major - Lord Of The Mic [Video]

The Bloodline member 9 Milli Major showcases the video for the brand new track 'Lord Of The Mic'. Just lately we've seen a lot from this mc and it's becoming more apparent after each track the amount he's progressing.

In the track 9 Milli Major expresses his views on Lord Of The Mics, stating he doesn't need to be involved as he's already proved himself before. We also hear sly sends for Trim throughout the track and even Nico Lindsay at one point as well.

After being quiet for a long time we get to see a brand new video from mc Lightning, for the track entitled 'Snap Back' featuring Ghetts, where he expresses his love for the style of hats. Look out for the cameo from Mr. Wong in the video as well.

Ghetts - On A Level [Official Video]

After not hearing much from Ghetts lately, we suddenly get to see the brand new video for track entitled 'On A Level' produced by Confectionary.

I've gotta be honest I'm really not sure what to make of this track so far. I do like the beat, although I feel maybe it's not the best suited to Ghetts's style but I must admit as soon as the dnb bit come in, that certainly put me off slightly.  Not to say this track doesn't contain some good lyrics though, with also quite a catchy hook, I just think that because this is such a large step away from what we've heard Ghetts on before that it will take a little getting used to thats all.

It's now easy for us to see that Ghetts certainly wants a part in some mainstream success, which is fine as long he caters for his loyal fans as well and stays true to where he originally started.

Apart from this though, the video for this track, filmed and directed by Carley Cussen, certainly fits in well with the theme of the track, with it's dark and eerie feel to it.

Hollowman Jendor - Beat Keeps Screaming [Official Net Video]

The OG'z mc releases the second video for a track taken from his mixtape 'When It Rains It Storms', with the track entitled 'Beat Keeps Screaming'. After recently also dropping the video for 'Gutter Sound' and holding two launch party's for the release, it shows how much hard work Jendor's put into this project.

The track featured in this video is certainly one of the highlights from the mixtape, with it's monster dubstep production, so it's only right that we now get to see visuals for it as well. The video, filmed by We Goin In, also features clips taken from the first launch party, that was held in Oxford and we also see apperances from mc's Kozzie and Blacks.

Dimples - Bad Attitude [Video]

The GFam member Dimples releases a brand new video for his track 'Bad Attitude' taken from the highly acclaimed mixtape 'Last Laugh Vol.3'. Dimples's work-rate along with the rest of his crew this year as been far higher than most others in the scene and it seems he plans to see out the year like he started it.

The video below, filmed by director Alex Sosa, is a great accompaniment to the track that sees the North London mc flow over the grimey production with his usual punchline filled lyrics.

Last week we saw an interview from Scorcher, filmed by Street Wise TV, with the 'Skywalker' mc addressing the send from Roachee in his Lord Of The Mics 'Hype Session'. He confirms that he does not want to clash on Lord Of The Mics and then even claims that after the 'Hype Sessions' video aired, Roachee even rang him to apologise.

Anyway, a few days later and Roachee takes a look at the interview, he has been mentioned in, after Jammer points it out to him on Twitter. As you can imagine the Sith Lord mc is not happy after hearing claims that he rang up Scorcher apologising, so got in contact with Lord Of The Mics, to film a video, to get his side of the story across. He states that he would never dream of ringing up to apologise and makes it clear that he does "Not Like Liars"!

M.I.K - Street Starz Spotlight Freestyle [Video]

Yesterday I posted a freestyle video from, Family Tree member, Merky Ace and today we see another from a member of the grime collective, this time from M.I.K.

Wiley - No Love Lost [Free Download]

Just lately we've seen a whole heap of tracks given away by Wiley and this week is no different as he releases the grime track 'No Love Lost'.

The Godfather Of Grime has had more beef within the scene than probably any other mc and had some form of relationship with nearly every mc there is. In this track he talks about exactly this, airing his many thoughts as usual.

Kozzie - Lord Of The Mics Interview

So we've heard Sox's side of things from the Lord Of The Mics clash, now it's time to hear Kozzie's version. The Blue Borough mc gets across his side of the story and tells us, in detail, what really went down. Catch the interview below.

Roachee - Sith Lord [Video]

In the run up to the forthcoming free download 'Roach Material Vol.1' Roachee drops a brand new video for the track entitled 'Sith Lord'.

After watching this video for the first time on Sunday, I played it again, then again and again. The track 'Sith Lord' , which uses the Prodigy remix from dubstep producer Numbernin6, is the rawest grime track I think we've heard for a while in the scene, with an equally fitting video, filmed and directed by Simon Wheatley.

After hearing the 'When I'm Ere' mc release a few tracks now since his comeback, it looks like Roachee is now back and here to stay, with that gritty grime flow the scene has been missing.

The mixtape 'Roach Material Vol.1' will be released for free download through the No Hats No Hoods label this Friday 9th Sept, featuring the above track 'Sith Lord' and many more.

Dot Rotten - Words Of Wisdom Freestyle [Audio]

Dot Rotten uploads a brand new freestyle on his YouTube page entitled 'Words Of Wisdom' freestyle. Without grime fans getting their hopes again, this one's over a hip-hop beat. This now seems to be the permanent genre the mc is edging towards nowadays. Nevertheless Dot Rotten still delivers that lyrical content that puts him in a league above many in the UK.

Merky Ace - Catch Up (Prod. By Faze Miyake) [Video]

The Family Tree mc is quickly working his way up the ranks, with more and more people now considering him as one as the scenes top mc's. His 'Blue Battlefield' mixtape featured banger after banger and helped establish his name in grime.

Since his release, we've never been short of new material from either him or the rest of the Family Tree crew for that matter. This week we see a net video, filmed and edited by Aaron Hanson (Hanson's House), for his 'Catch Up' freestyle produced by Faze Miyake.

Kozzie VS. Sox LOTM 3 Aftermath

If your a grime fan then you would already know what happened in Jammer's 'Dungeon' at the Kozzie & Sox clash for Lord Of The Mics 3, but if your not a grime regular or you've had no Internet this week then I'll give you the quick run down of events.

Basically the pair were in Jammer's basement ready to clash, Sox spat his bars then Kozzie spat his. Whatever Kozzie said seemed to put the Brum mc under a bit too much pressure however as Sox then stated, that he had forgot his bars and he wasn't going to clash.

The next day we then saw Sox on radio slewing Kozzie again as if nothing had happened and the clash had gone ahead like planned. Now whether Kozzie got a chance to hear this or not I'm not sure, but he also had bars for the mc on Logan Sama's Kiss FM show on Monday night.

Finally today we saw an interview on Lord Of The Mic's official YouTube page with Sox to try and clear up any confusion. Sox gives a couple of reasons as to why he forfeited the clash, however none of which make much sense.

First of all he claims that he found it hard to write for Kozzie as he doesn't rate him, although it was Sox that first sent for Kozzie and also seemed to have enough bars for Kozzie the other day on radio. Then lastly he states there was too much going on that day, including coming to London for the first time and being involved in interviews and photoshoots, which again I'm not sure what to think of.

Frisco Ft. J2K - Fast Lane (Prod. By Target) [Video]

Days after the release of the 'Tear Drops' EP from Frisco, we see a video for the track 'Fast Lane' produced by Target, which is taken from the recent release.

The track from Frisco, also features a helping hand from Roll Deep member J2K who's been putting in the work lately with his single 'WTF' featuring Kenzie May and his free mixtape with rapper AYO entitled 'Now Playing Vol.2', both which are out now.

The video, filmed and edited by Wrighty Media, also includes footage from Boy Better Know's recent performance at this years Global Gathering festival on the Rinse FM stage.

Ruff Sqwad - This Side [Official Net Video]

It's been a while since we've heard the grime collective on a track together, although they've all been working hard on solo projects. This is why I was surprised when I woke up this morning to see a brand new video from Ruff Sqwad for the track entitled 'This Side'.

The talented bunch of mc's and producers are back with that classic funky Ruff Sqwad sound, with features from members Dirty Danger, Slix, Rapid and even Tinchy Stryder, with just the exception of Fuda Guy which was a shame. With what feels like the energy taken from the days of the old school Rinse FM sets and vibes influenced from the current funky scene, the crew have certainly developed their own style when it comes to club bangers like this.

The video, filmed and edited by the GrimeDaily director Capone, was shot in this years summer destination 'Ibiza' and gives us a true insight to the definition of the word "Flee".
