Word Of Grime.

Last Saturday Butterz & Hardrive tore apart Cable nightclub at London Bridge, with performances from DJ's Elijah & Skilliam, Royal-T, Champion, Terror Danjah, Swindle, D.O.K, Scratcha DVA and Kode 9 in room one and funky house in room two.

Grime legend D Double E also performed on the night with Terror Danjah, who was celebrating his birthday, which included live P.A's of 'Back To The Bone', 'Bluku Bluku' and 'Streetfighter Riddim' and also a live set with old skool grime mc Bruza. Other mc's in attendance were Family Tree members Merky Ace and Ego, who both blessed the mic at various times throughout the night, and a quick appearance from Blacks on Elijah's and Skilliam's set.

Highlights of the night for me was funky house DJ/Producer Champion's set who showed us the darker side to the genre and then lit up the place near the end with some old skool grime classics and D Double E's performance with Terror Danjah, although I have to say every DJ and mc had the crowd hype and not one set was a disappointment.

Lets hope this is the start of something new and we'll be seeing many more Butterz hosted nights soon.
